If you can read, you can cook! And sixty days or bust...

Ta da! I am writing my first blog post because of a friend's suggestion.(Thanks, Tamah!) We were talking about additional ways a stay at home mom could make an income using only a laptop (which, as I am discovering, is a bit of an understatement.) And because I am wondering how I can contribute more than what I currently am, I have decided to chronicle that particular adventure-Clickbank Pirate, http://cbpirate.com/s/cbp/Arasay/cup1, as well as anything else worth chronicling...like my Mama Dot's beef brisket recipe!
Day one of sixty- I searched for an internet marketing membership that would work with someone like me. Definition of "me": feels proud of her ability to turn a computer on, remember her login, and connect to the internet. That's about it. Brief, but strangely accurate. After reading its promo materials, I felt that Clickbank Pirate would be a fit. Mostly because it claimed that it would give me all of my money back after a sixty day trial, and partly because of my pirate ancestry.
Right off, I was given an affiliate link: http://cbpirate.com/main/Arasay/cup1, and a plug and play blog they designed: http://arasay.cbpirateblog.com. The membership also gave me 11 more turnkey packages to promote and promotional tools. "This is good stuff," I thought. Harrr.
In the above paragraph, there are at least six words past "log-in" that I didn't understand. But I didn't know that. Now, I do. :)
Speaking of "Good Stuff" brings me back to that Brisket! When I would go as a child to visit my dad's mother, Mama Dot, she would usually have a beef brisket ready for the first evening meal of our visit. And then we would have it every day for lunch until it ran out. The amount of men in attendance at those meals determined how many more meals she could get out of it. We usually had at least 3 lunches with this. Those must have been huge hunks of meat. This is the recipe my mom made for my graduation party. I distinctly remember looking into the dining room that evening when she brought out the briskets, and noting that there were two briskets, I opted to visit with my friends and then come back for some later. FAIL. I didn't think about what I also saw: All of my male teachers standing around the dining room table. Lesson: this is MANFOOD.

Mama Dot's BBQ Beef Brisket
-any size beef brisket   -celery salt, garlic salt, and onion salt   -3oz.bottle of liquid smoke
-salt and pepper   -Worcestershire sauce   -BBQ sauce
  1. Cut brisket out of packaging and drain. Cut off extra fat if necessary. Place brisket in 2 new garbage bags and sprinkle generously with celery, garlic, and onion salts and all of liquid smoke.
  2. Refrigerate overnight tightly wrapped and in a large pan.
  3. Next morning, remove brisket from bags and place back into the roasting pan. Sprinkle both sides of meat with salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce.
  4. Cover tightly with foil and bake for 5 hours at 275F.
  5. Uncover and drain. Pour the BBQ sauce over the brisket and brush to seal. Bake for one more hour uncovered.
  6. Remove to cutting board carefully and let stand for 10 minutes. Cut across the grain.I like to put some sauce on the bottom of a large corningware baking dish that I serve from and then lay the slices on top of the sauce. After the slices are arranged, I brush more sauce across the top. Then I cover the serving dish with foil and keep it warm til serving. Parts of the brisket will just shred, so put it into a bag for later, or you can choose to shred all of it and mix it with sauce for a great pulled beef brisket sandwich!!
So to put it all together and to call it a wrap, My mama said, "If you can read, you can cook!" We'll see if that translates to internet marketing!
